Maasai Medicine Women

This assignment was conducted as a way of seeking to understand the effects of climate
change on the availability of wild edible plants and fruits among the local maasai communities in
Kenya.

DateMay, 2021Share

The indigenous populations have been affected by social systems such as the patriarchy, where men dominate family roles in terms of access, control, decision-making, and sharing of resources, including wild fruits and vegetables. Pastor Mary and her fellow women of this Maasai community have been taking the lead in making sure the knowledge of this important wild food is preserved.
